GITAM inks MoU with Pfizer Healthcare



To prepare future workforce in pharmaceutical industry GITAM Deemed to be University signed MoU with reputed American multinational Pharmaceutical Company Pfizer Healthcare India Private Ltd here on Tuesday. As per the MoU the University will offer a specially designed BSc Chemistry program (6 semesters) from the academic year 2021-22. Pfizer India Ltd will pay the tuition Fee for the proposed program per annum per student admitted. GITAM Deemed to be University Registrar Prof.D.Gunasekharan and Pfizer India Ltd Visakhapatnam site head Vikram Shukla exchanged the MoU documents in the presence of the university Vice-Chancellor Prof.K.Sivaramakrishna and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof.Jayasankar Variyar.

While addressing the gathering GITAM Deemed to be University Vice-Chancellor Prof.K.Sivaramakrishna said that the university is updating the curriculum time to time and also designing new programs as per the industry requirements. He informed that the university is running several science and engineering related programs suggested by pharmaceutical industries and IT industries. He mentioned that academic and industry relations will improve the quality of human resource in the country and GITAM is always taking first step.


Pfizer India Ltd Visakhapatnam site head Vikram Shukla informed that the company is giving high priority to provide the employment to rural women and planning to increase the intake up to 1000 during the next 4years in Visakhapatnam. After selecting the students the company will treat them as student trainee and aiming to enhance their knowledge and employability skills through BSc chemistry program designed by GITAM, he added. He thanked GITAM for preparing a suitable program for their student trainees.
