Har Shikhar Tiranga Team Achieves Historic Flag Hoisting on Andhra Pradesh's Tallest Peak
VISAKHAPATNAM: In a remarkable feat, the Har Shikhar Tiranga national team, consisting of accomplished Mount Everest climbers, proudly raised the National Flag atop the highest peak in Andhra Pradesh, Arma Konda, situated in the Hukumpet mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district this Monday.
Scaling the towering 5545-foot peak took the 15-member team just 90 minutes. The Har Shikhar Tiranga team's noble mission involves unfurling the national flag on the highest peaks of every state across the nation.
Their journey commenced on August 1 of this year in the North East states and culminated with the conquest of the highest peaks in 21 states. After successfully completing their mission in Telangana, they set foot in Andhra Pradesh.
As part of the Har Shikhar Tiranga mission, the team is scheduled to ascend Deo Mali in Odisha on Tuesday, with the mission slated for completion by October 15, following the hoisting of the national flag on the highest peaks in Sikkim.
The mission is driven by several core objectives, including promoting national unity, showcasing India's rich diversity, nurturing patriotism, fostering adventure and exploration, and raising local awareness.
Led by Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award recipient and National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) director, Colonel Ranvir Sing Jamwal, the team comprises 15 members, including army personnel and local individuals, including students and youth.
The tri-color flag was hoisted by Colonel Ranvir, Anand Kumar Sadanapalli from Andhra Pradesh, a Mount Everest conqueror, and mountaineer and advocate Krishna Prasad from Lagisapalli in Paderu mandal. Ranvir has scaled Mount Everest three times, while Krishna Prasad has triumphed over Kilimanjaro and Elbrus mountains.
The team embarked on their trek from Olugedda village at 3:30 p.m. and completed it in just one and a half hours. Team leader Ranvir Singh encouraged local youth to embrace adventure sports, while mountaineer Anand Kumar emphasized how adventure tourism could showcase the natural beauty and cultural richness of the locality to the world.
