Heavy Rainfall Warning for Coastal Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam: IMD Predicts Heavy Rain from June 25 to 28
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Amaravati has issued a heavy rainfall warning for parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP) from June 25 to 28.
According to the forecast, heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected at isolated places across CAP and Yanam for the next four days.
Additionally, gusty winds with speeds ranging from 40-50 kmph are likely over CAP, while gusty winds at 30-40 kmph are expected over the Rayalaseema region during the same period.
The IMD reported that lower tropospheric south-westerly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, contributing to the weather conditions.
On Sunday night and Monday, rainfall was recorded in several areas of CAP and in isolated places in Rayalaseema. Despite a few districts experiencing less rainfall, the state overall has received good rainfall so far in June. The Rayalaseema region, in particular, has seen excess rainfall this month. However, there has been a decrease in rainfall activity over the past week.
Farmers across the state are hopeful for significant rainfall in the coming week to aid the ongoing kharif season. The expected rainfall could provide much-needed relief and support for agricultural activities.
