IIM Vizag Launches Digital Governance Programme with NCGG.



VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), in collaboration with the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), has launched a pioneering training programme aimed at enhancing digital governance skills among senior government officials.

The initiative welcomed nineteen officers from eleven states, focusing on equipping them with strategies to implement effective e-governance projects and improve public service delivery through technology.

Programme Highlights:

  • Objective: The programme is designed to enhance the competencies of senior government officials in the realms of information technology and digital governance.
  • Participants: Nineteen senior officers representing eleven states.
  • Content: The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including the latest digital technologies, e-governance project implementation, and the centralised public grievance redressal system.

Inaugural Insights:

In his inaugural address, V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG and Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, underscored the significance of this collaboration. He highlighted the transformative role of technology in governance and discussed the "centralised public grievance redressal system: a foundation for smart government," emphasizing the evolving landscape of governance.

 


Leadership Perspectives:

Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIMV, spoke on the potential of digital governance to enhance accountability, transparency, and responsiveness in public service delivery. He emphasized the need for simpler, more efficient, and practical governance processes.

Prof. Srinivas Josyula, Programme Director from IIM Visakhapatnam, outlined the comprehensive topics covered in the programme, including case studies and best practices from various states. Dr. B. S. Bisht, Associate Professor and Course Director from NCGG, also addressed the gathering, marking this programme as a significant step in state capacity building for digital governance.

This collaborative effort between NCGG and IIM Visakhapatnam represents a major milestone in the journey towards effective and innovative public service delivery through digital governance. The programme aims to foster a new wave of tech-savvy government officials capable of driving substantial improvements in public administration.
