Under the aegis of  Commissioner of Income-tax -1, Visakhapatnam, the Income-tax Department has conducted the Tax Payers Outreach Programme at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) on 8th June 2022. This was a part of Iconic Week Celebrations from 6th to 11th June 2022, commemorating the 75th year of Independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. 

This programme was chaired by  Asit Kumar Mohapatra, IRS, Pr. Commissioner of Income-tax -1, Rajiv Kumar Singh, IRS, Commissioner of Income-tax, AK Saxena, Director Operations, RINL. VV Venugopal, Director Finance, RINL, A. Arun, IRS, Jt. Commissioner of Income-tax, Range-2, Karthik Manickam M., IRS, Jt. Commissioner of Income-tax, Range-1, and  T.V. Vamsidhar, IRS, JCIT(OSD).

The programme was targeted to reach various stakeholders of RINL, i.e., employees, contractors, sub-contractors, service providers, material, and suppliers, to create awareness about tax compliance, taxpayer services, and recent developments in the Income-tax Department, flagship schemes taken up by the Department, etc.

At the outset, Shri PV Suryanarayana, Asst. General Manager, RINL, while welcoming the gathering, has appreciated the efforts taken by the Income-tax Department for simplifying the procedure in e-filing. He highlighted that RINL and its employees are committed to tax compliance and that RINL is deducting tax at a source of about Rs.250 crores annually.
