Lokesh Launches Regional Economic Development Board for Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh announced the creation of a Regional Economic Development Board in Visakhapatnam aimed at boosting employment opportunities for the youth.
He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the government's goal of attracting investments and streamlining industrial permits through a single-window system, led by a young IAS officer.
Lokesh highlighted the forthcoming operations of TCS in the city and mentioned ongoing discussions with other companies. He reiterated the government’s commitment to generating two million jobs over the next five years.
Addressing the media, Lokesh condemned recent intimidation faced by advocates representing the Telugu Desam Party (TD) and vowed to pursue legal action against those responsible. He also revealed a defamation suit against Blue Media for spreading false information, seeking ₹75 crore in damages.
Lokesh further assured that public funds have never been misused under TD governance, and the party has always worked towards improving citizens' lives. He affirmed the party's readiness to take legal recourse when necessary to counter misinformation.
Regarding the Super Six schemes, Lokesh confirmed that a structured plan is in place for their systematic implementation. He also assured that the privatization of RINL would not occur under the NDA government.
In response to concerns about coordination between MPs and MLAs in the state, Lokesh acknowledged minor issues but emphasized that they are resolved through open dialogue within the TD party.
