In a significant development, the Seeleru police within the Chintapalli police sub-division successfully intercepted and seized 726 kg of ganja destined from Odisha to Maharashtra.

The individuals involved in the illegal transportation operation hail from both Odisha and Maharashtra.

The police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the case—24-year-old driver Sonal Kishan Kale and Sachin Lakshman Kale from Ahmednagar district.

The confiscated contraband, totaling 726 kg, was discreetly concealed in 28 gunny bags, loaded onto a goods truck, accompanied by a car.

The police operation also resulted in the seizure of nine mobile phones and ₹1,300 in cash.

Currently, two individuals from Maharashtra and one from Odisha remain at large, prompting the authorities to launch a dedicated team to apprehend the fugitives.

Following their arrest, the two individuals in custody, Sonal Kishan Kale and Sachin Lakshman Kale, were remanded to the central prison.

Meanwhile, law enforcement is actively pursuing the absconding suspects.

The cannabis interception transpired during an extensive vehicle check conducted by the Chintapalli police on a Tuesday evening, as confirmed by the additional SP of Chintapalli.
