Fire Breaks Out Near Sea Horse Junction

A fire broke out at Visakhapatnam Port premises on Friday while welding work was underway on an under-construction conveyor-belt structure near Sea Horse Junction.

According to a police official quoted by PTI, sparks from the welding work fell on a plastic casing near a junction of the structure, setting it alight. The fire was reportedly brought under control immediately.

Conveyor Belt Was Not Yet Operational

Officials clarified that the conveyor belt itself had not yet been installed and was not operational. Only its supporting structure was under construction at the time of the incident.

No major damage was reported, according to the police official. Further details about the incident and any review of safety procedures have not been independently confirmed.
