Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Expected in AP from October 7
Visakhapatnam: A low-pressure area has formed over the northern Bay of Bengal and the coastal regions of Bangladesh and West Bengal, influenced by upper air circulation from southwest Bangladesh.
This cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and tilts southwestward with height.
According to a report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Amaravati, an upper air cyclonic circulation is also present over the West Central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, reaching up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Stella, director of IMD Amaravati, noted that it will soon be confirmed whether this circulation will strengthen into a low-pressure system.
If so, Andhra Pradesh may experience moderate to heavy rainfall beginning October 7, with a private weather website predicting the low pressure will develop on that day.
As a result of the upper air circulation, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Rayalaseema. Thunderstorms with lightning are also likely in parts of north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema, and these conditions may persist until October 8.
