Navy Triumphs in 73rd Inter Services Water Polo Championship



The 73rd Inter Services Water Polo Championship for the year 2024-25 unfolded in Visakhapatnam with a display of aquatic prowess from teams representing the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

Hosted by the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), the championship drew in 30 skilled players from both services, showcasing their talents in the pool.

Following a series of intense matches marked by exceptional skill and determination, it was the navy team that emerged victorious, claiming the championship trophy.

Beyond the pursuit of victory, the event aimed to foster camaraderie amongst service personnel while promoting sporting excellence.

Moreover, it served as a crucial platform for selecting the services team for the upcoming 77th Senior Nationals Aquatics Championship of 2024.


Flag Officer Submarines (FOSM) Rear Admiral K Venkatraman graced the event as the chief guest.

In a moment of honor, he presented the championship trophy to the Navy Water Polo team and awarded medals to standout performers whose remarkable skills shone throughout the championship.

In a gesture of respect and appreciation, the chief guest also took the opportunity to honor veteran aquatic players residing in and around Andhra Pradesh,

Acknowledging their significant contributions to the sport.
