Nepal is set to open a consulate in Visakhapatnam to promote trade and tourism growth
Nepal is strengthening its relationship with India by establishing a consulate in Visakhapatnam, aiming to enhance trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges in the region.
The Embassy of Nepal, led by Ambassador Surendra Thapa and Minister Taranath Adhikari, signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh Tourism. Representing Andhra Pradesh were Nukasani Balaji, Chairman of APTDC, and K. Vijay Mohan, President of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum and the Tours and Travels Association. This MoU marks the first-ever agreement between the Nepal government and an Indian state.
The primary focus of this MoU is to promote and develop tourism between the two regions, fostering cooperation, collaboration, and the sharing of expertise, resources, and knowledge. Both parties aim to enhance the travel and tourism experience for visitors to both destinations.
Vijay Mohan, speaking at the event, emphasized the broader vision of the partnership, noting that it would not only strengthen tourism but also open doors for cultural exchanges and mutual growth. This MoU marks a significant milestone in the Nepal-Andhra Pradesh relationship, paving the way for greater collaboration in travel, tourism, and hospitality. It reflects a shared commitment to building strong connections, offering unique experiences to visitors, and tapping into the rich cultural and natural resources of both regions.
