At the Zilla Parishad general body meeting held in Visakhapatnam, several ZPTC members voiced serious concerns about the lack of basic amenities in the Agency mandals of Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district.
Key Concern: No Teachers in Government Schools
Members revealed that some government schools in tribal areas are running without a single teacher, severely affecting the education of tribal children. Many schools remain understaffed, with students depending on temporary arrangements or being left without instruction entirely.
Healthcare Gaps in Tribal Regions
The meeting also highlighted the unavailability of medical specialists in remote agency hospitals. Residents of these tribal regions face difficulty accessing basic health services due to staff shortages and infrastructure issues.
Responding to the complaints, ASR District Collector assured that measures are being initiated to recruit teachers and medical staff, and bridge the gaps in both education and healthcare systems.
The issue sheds light on the long-standing neglect of tribal welfare, despite numerous schemes on paper. ZPTC members urged the authorities to act swiftly and sustainably.
