Oral Cancer Awareness Camp Held at KGH on World No Tobacco Day 2024
In observance of World No Tobacco Day 2024, the Dental Surgery Department of King George Hospital (KGH) organized an oral cancer awareness camp on Friday.
The event aimed to educate the public on the dangers of tobacco consumption and the importance of early detection in combating oral cancer.
V.V.S. Triveni, the Head of the Department (HOD), emphasized the critical need to avoid tobacco products such as gutka, khaini, and other related items to prevent the onset of oral cancers.
During the camp, participants underwent tests to detect potential oral cancers. Additionally, the hospital provided toothpaste, mouthwash, and medicines to patients in need.
The camp was conducted by Dr. Vinod, Dr. Lavanya, and Dr. Sukumar, who played key roles in facilitating the event and offering their expertise to raise awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco use.
