The Andhra Pradesh Air travellers Association stated that air travel had witnessed significant growth in the state. This is with regard to all the airports in Andhra Pradesh state. Passenger travel in 2021-22 improved compared to 2020 -21 in AP. Tirupati International Airport has seen a massive growth in passenger traffic.

Compared with the financial year 2020-21, regarding the number of passengers travelled and aircraft from the airports of Andhra Pradesh, most of the airports have increased passenger and aircraft movements in the financial year 2021-22. 

Among all the four major airports, Tirupati airport registered a 77% growth in passenger traffic and 44% growth in Aircraft movement. This airport has received a very drastic increase in passenger traffic. This is the highest growth compared to all other airports in Andhra Pradesh.

 Visakhapatnam International Airport registered a 45% growth in passenger traffic and a 28% growth in Aircraft movement. 

The Vijayawada and the Rajahmundry airports have also witnessed a phenomenal increase in air traffic compared to the previous years. With the travel restrictions relaxed, air traffic is expected to increase even more in the coming years.

From the statistics, we can witness that air traffic has increased drastically in this financial year. This is a positive sign of development and connectivity in the AP state.
