Petrol Station's License Suspended in Visakhapatnam Over Election Code Violation
In Visakhapatnam, the license of Burfani Petroleum Products (Reliance), located near NAD Kotha Road Junction, has been temporarily suspended by election officials for breaching the election code.
This action comes following allegations that the petrol station was dispensing fuel to vehicles using coupons issued by political parties.
The District Flying Squad Team conducted a raid on April 19 after receiving complaints about the petrol station's practices.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the station had provided fuel to 860 motorists based on coupons distributed
In response to these findings, Joint Collector K. Mayur Ashok announced the temporary suspension of the station's license for violating the election code.
Furthermore, the Returning Officer for the Visakhapatnam West constituency has been instructed to direct the police to take legal action against those responsible for issuing the coupons.
The Joint Collector emphasized the importance of political parties and petrol station management adhering to election regulations,
Urging them to refrain from such actions as they constitute a violation of the code.
