In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a series of transformative projects and laid the foundation stones for additional ventures at the Visakhapatnam Port Authority.

This event, which unfolded from the heart of New Delhi, highlights a significant push towards the rejuvenation of the Visakhapatnam Port.

The Visakhapatnam Port Authority has embarked on a journey of progress by initiating four pivotal projects, with a primary focus on mechanization efforts through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

These mechanization endeavors are set to revitalize berths EQ-7, WQ-7, WQ-8, and WQ-6, with an impressive investment totaling Rs 655 crore.

Prime Minister Modi presided over the auspicious foundation stone-laying ceremonies for three of these groundbreaking projects, marking a milestone in the port's modernization.

Adding to the list of inaugurated projects, the Prime Minister also celebrated the Phase II extension of the Visakha Container Terminal. This extension, executed under the DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer) framework, comes with a substantial budget of Rs 633 crore.

The ceremonies for both the foundation stone-laying and the dedicated inauguration unfolded at the Visakha Container Terminal premises, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of Visakhapatnam Port Authority officials, Visakha Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. employees, JM Baxi, and Bothra, alongside other distinguished attendees.

These initiatives symbolize a promising future for the Visakhapatnam Port and the broader region's economic growth, further underscoring the commitment to infrastructure development and modernization.
