A rare and delicate orthopaedic surgery, shoulder arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with REGENETEN implant, was successfully performed by Dr. Abdul D Khan, Professor and Head of Department at Apollo Hospitals, Visakhapatnam.
A 30-year-old male patient had been experiencing persistent pain and weakness in his shoulder for six months, unresponsive to conservative treatments.
An MRI scan confirmed a rotator cuff tear.
Dr. Khan conducted the rotator cuff repair and inserted the bioinductive implant. According to a statement issued by the hospital on Thursday, the patient recovered well and was discharged within 24 hours.
