Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam District Labour Unions Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced a relay hunger strike from October 1 to 3 to protest the proposed privatization of the RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
JAC Chairman M. Jaggunaidu, speaking at a roundtable held on Sunday (September 29), stated that various student, worker, and women’s welfare unions would participate in the demonstration.
The strike aims to challenge the authorities' plans to privatize the steel plant, which has sparked widespread opposition in the region.
