In a bid to celebrate World Environment Day, Rushikonda beach witnessed a remarkable cleanliness drive accompanied by a plantation initiative at Kailasagiri Hill.

The event, a collaborative effort between Axis Bank and the NGO Manam Vanam, resonated with the theme of environmental preservation and sustainability.

Titled 'Open for the Planet Clean-A-Thon,' the campaign spanned from June 5th to 12th, drawing over 100 enthusiastic volunteers.

The diverse group, comprising Axis Bank employees, NGO representatives, local community members, environmental activists, and government authorities, converged on Rushikonda beach with a shared mission.

Their combined efforts saw the planting of 100 saplings and the collection of a staggering 500 kg of waste. 

Beyond the physical cleanup, volunteers took to educating the community on the significance of maintaining cleanliness and fostering environmental consciousness.

Among the notable participants were former Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), V.V. Lakshminarayana, Forest Range Officer (FRO) Ram Naresh,

Blue Flag Beach manager Venkatesh, and directors of Manam Vanam NGO, P. Sunil Kumar and Sarani Devi.

Axis Bank's circle marketing manager, B. Uday Kumar, also lent his support to the initiative, underscoring the collective commitment toward a greener, cleaner future for Rushikonda and beyond.
