SCoR Launches Cleanliness Drives to Promote Environmental Sanitation

South Coast Railway has stepped up cleanliness and environmental sanitation activities across its railway facilities in Visakhapatnam.
The drives are being conducted as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.
The campaign places emphasis on cleanliness, scientific waste management and public participation.
Railway employees, sanitation workers and other stakeholders are being encouraged to take part in the activities.
The initiative promotes segregation of waste and responsible disposal practices.
Special attention is being given to railway premises and public areas requiring improved sanitation.
The campaign also supports broader efforts by Indian Railways to strengthen environmental and housekeeping management.
Cleanliness activities are intended to improve hygiene around railway facilities while creating greater awareness among passengers and the community.
The initiative forms part of the wider national focus on “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
The campaign highlights cleanliness as a shared responsibility involving railway authorities, employees, passengers and local communities.
