Sea Harrier Museum a New Attraction in Visakhapatnam for Naval History Enthusiasts
The Sea Harrier Museum, located on RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is a new addition to the city's already impressive collection of defence-related attractions. Inaugurated yesterday, by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the museum is expected to attract more tourists in the coming days.
Developed by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority at a cost of Rs 10 crore, the Sea Harrier Museum is said to be the only museum of its kind in the country. It features a war aircraft that was brought from Goa to Visakhapatnam, along with parts of the aircraft and a simulator, giving visitors a unique and immersive experience.
The museum is located in close proximity to other popular attractions on RK Beach, including the TU-142 Aircraft Museum and the INS Kursura Submarine Museum. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Indian Navy officials, who briefed him on the equipment on display at the museum. The Eastern Naval Command's (ENC) Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Vice Admiral Biswajit Das Gupta, also joined the Chief Minister on a tour of the museum.
