Seafood HACCP Training Conducted by EIA in Vizag
Visakhapatnam, July 28: The Export Inspection Agency (EIA) held a two-day training program on Seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) in Vizag city.
The training emphasized the importance of implementing HACCP protocols to ensure the production of safe seafood. This initiative targeted technologists from various approved seafood establishments across Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, and Bhimavaram regions.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Export Inspection Council (Ministry of Commerce and Industry).
The program was inaugurated by Dr. B. Madhusudana Rao, Principal Scientist at ICAR-CIFT RC Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Jayapalan G, Deputy Director In-charge of EIA-Chennai, and Sudhansu Sekhar Das, Assistant Director and Sub Office In-charge of EIA, along with other officials and staff.
This training is part of India's broader goal to boost seafood exports to Rs one lakh crore within the next two years by increasing processing capacity and shifting towards higher value-added products.
