The Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association has announced a notable increase in both aircraft movement and passenger traffic at Visakhapatnam Airport for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25.

The airport witnessed a 6.8% rise in aircraft movements, totaling 5,398 flights, compared to 5,052 flights in the same period last year. Additionally, passenger traffic increased by 1.12%, with 7,02,787 passengers traveling through the airport, up from 6,94,931 passengers in Q2 of the previous year.

This growth highlights the increasing popularity and strategic importance of Visakhapatnam Airport as a key hub for air travel in the region.

The consistent rise in both aircraft movements and passenger numbers underscores the airport's capacity to handle growing demand and its pivotal role in connecting Andhra Pradesh with the rest of the country and beyond.

Dr. K. Kumar Raja, President of the Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association, expressed satisfaction with the growth, emphasizing the association's commitment to enhancing the travel experience for passengers. Vice-Presidents O. Naresh Kumar and D.S. Varma also echoed these sentiments, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve airport facilities and services.
