Sinkram Gutta, the 4th highest peak in eastern ghats and one of the offbeat trekking destination from Vizag
The not so famous trekking destination, Sinkram Gutta Peak is made for adventure seekers. This is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1620m above the sea level. Sinkram Gutta is the fourth highest peak in the easter ghats. The peak is located to the south of the village called Guramaravi Gutta.
Sinkram Gutta Peak is located in Odisha, but it is an easy weekend getaway from Vizag. The village in which this mountain is located, Guramaravi Gutta is 140 km from Visakhapatnam via the Araku road. It would take approximately 4hr to reach the village from Visakhapatnam by road.
From this village, it would take 30 mins to reach the mountain downhill. The trek is quite difficult and would take a minimum of three hours for experienced trekkers.
From the hilltop, one can witness spellbound landscapes, despite the trek being a rough trail, it is worth the difficulty. The entire hill is at an elevation of 700 m, which means one must climb a 700 m steep hill terrain. One cannot find many eateries and lodges near the Guramaravi Gutta village. It's advisable to stop by Araku for food and other necessities. From Araku it is a 40 km drive.
