Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam, organized a special summer camp to create awareness among the children about wildlife and nature. This summer camp, which began five days ago, concluded on Friday. About 30 children between the ages of 5 to 11 years actively participated in this summer camp. 

As a part of the summer camp on the first day, the zoo education team created awareness among the children about the various species of animals in the zoo. On the second day, kids were explained the differences between animals and their pugmarks, carnivores, herbivores, etc., and also described the stripes and marks of the animals. 

On the third day, they were taken to the veterinary hospital and explained various treatment methods and on the fourth day, the children learned about butterflies and their life cycle. The students were delighted to learn so many things during this 5-day of summer camp. 

Children enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities such as drawing and coloring etc. Dr. Nandani Salaria, Curator, IGZP thanked the parents for taking the time and encouraging their children to participate in this summer camp. The Zoo Park has been hosting summer camps since last year. Due to Corona last year's summer camp was conducted through online mode, for the first time the summer camp was conducted offline and received a good response. Children from this age need to stay close to nature and learn about wildlife. 

It was a great opportunity to learn so many things about how the animals were treated at the Veterinary Hospital in the Zoo. More such programs will be organized for children in the future, said Curator. Certificates were presented to those who participated in the Summer Camp.
