Success Story: Over 200 Students Secure Placements in Top IT Companies in Visakhapatnam



In a remarkable achievement for both students and the institution, Visakhapatnam witnessed over 200 engineering students securing placements in renowned IT companies during a recent campus recruitment drive at GITAM.

Among the notable selections, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Capgemini, two global IT giants, stood out by hiring 202 engineering students from GITAM.

Capgemini selected 90 students for the role of software engineer, offering an impressive package of Rs 4.25 LPA. On the other hand, TCS recruited 112 students for the position of assistant system engineer, with salary packages ranging from 3.3 LPA to Rs 11 LPA.

The director of GITAM School of Technology, K Nagendra Prasad, expressed his appreciation for the students who secured positions in these prestigious companies.

He noted that these companies recognize the strong and industry-relevant skills possessed by GITAM students, establishing the institution as a preferred choice for top-tier technology firms.


Vamsi Kiran Somayajula, Director of GITAM Career Guidance Centre (GCGC), highlighted the influx of renowned corporations such as Deloitte, Tata Elxsi, Future First, Alstom, Hyundai Transys, Bosch, Societe Generale, IBM, Musigma, Micron, and more, visiting the campus for their talent needs.

The GCGC plays a pivotal role in preparing students for such opportunities by offering strategic initiatives to enhance their competencies in their chosen fields.

Through regular assessments and mock interviews conducted by industry experts, students are equipped with the confidence to navigate the recruitment process successfully.

This success story not only reflects the caliber of the students but also underscores the commitment of GITAM towards fostering industry-ready talent, contributing significantly to the thriving IT landscape in Visakhapatnam.
