Successful Participation of 200 individuals in GVMC's 'Paint My Street' Initiative



GVMC's 'Paint My Street' initiative witnessed the active participation of 200 individuals, fostering community engagement and environmental awareness in Visakhapatnam.

Visakhapatnam, March 12: GVMC Additional Commissioner K.S. Viswanathan announced the commencement of the "Paint My Street" challenge program as part of the Eco-Vizag initiative aimed at transforming the city into an eco-friendly hub.

The launch event took place near Siripuram Junction All India Radio Station on Tuesday.

During the event, Additional Commissioner Viswanathan highlighted the collaborative effort between Ranger Force NGO and Fluent Grid to raise awareness on various eco-friendly themes like Eco-Clean, Eco-Green, Eco-Blue, Eco-Zero Plastic, and Eco-Zero Pollution.

The program kicked off with the creation of informative murals spanning 2500 sq. feet of wall space, with active involvement from 200 local residents, youths, and children, who received mentorship from students of the Fine Arts Department of Andhra University.


The initiative aimed to enhance the city's appeal while promoting environmental consciousness, with colorful and informative street art serving as a medium for public education.

GVMC's commitment to environmental awareness was further emphasized by the active involvement of officials and community leaders.

Participants were encouraged to register for the ongoing program through local secretariat offices, underscoring the importance of community engagement in fostering a sustainable future for Visakhapatnam.

The event saw the participation of key officials, including GVMC Additional Commissioner Dr. V. Sanyasi Rao, Fourth Zonal Commissioner P.V.D. Prasada Rao, UCD Project Officer D. Lakshmi, UNDP Coordinator Srinivasarajamani, Fluent Grid Vice President Winston SK Adams, Ravikant Reddy, Ranger Force NGO Founder S. Nagendra Babu, and Secretariat Secretaries, among others.
