Temporary Suspension of Visakhapatnam-Koraput Train for Infrastructure Upgrades

In a move aimed at advancing crucial development projects, the Visakhapatnam-Koraput bi-weekly express train, designated as train no. 18512, is set to be temporarily cancelled.

Departures scheduled for April 29, May 3, and May 6 from Visakhapatnam will be affected, allowing for essential Pre Non-Interlocking (NI) work and NI work.

These activities are integral to the commissioning of the double line between Tikri-Singaram-Laxmipuram Road along the Koraput-Rayagada line within the Waltair division.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, K. Saandeep, of the Waltair Division, confirmed that the train's counterpart, the Koraput-Visakhapatnam bi-weekly express (train no. 18511), will also experience cancellations.

Departures from Koraput on April 30, May 4, and May 7 will be affected correspondingly.

To accommodate these infrastructure enhancements, several trains along this route will be subject to short-termination and short-originating measures.

This strategic approach aims to minimize disruptions while facilitating the smooth execution of the development works.
