India assumed the G20 Presidency on the 1st of December, 2022, from Indonesia and will convene the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in the country this year. A nation deeply committed to democracy and multilateralism, India’s G20 Presidency would be a watershed moment in the country's history as it seeks to play an important role by finding pragmatic global solutions for the well-being of all, and in doing so, manifest the true spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," or "The World is One Family."

India has actively participated in the G20 meetings and initiatives and has been a strong advocate for reforms in global economic architecture. India is now hosting the G20 summit in 2023, which will provide the country with an opportunity to shape global economic policies and strategies and promote its priorities and interests on the world stage. As a part of India's G-20 presidency, official G20 meetings are being held in various cities, including Visakhapatnam, which was selected from Andhra Pradesh.

G20 Group Meetings in Vizag
The city of destiny is hosting the G20 International Summit on March 28 and 29. So, the district administration and state government are working to make the summit group meetings that will be held on March 28 and 29 a grand success and showcase the culture and potential of the city on the international stage. Over 200 delegates from 40 countries, including foreign delegates from G20 nations and other countries, as well as central government officials, will attend this summit in Vizag. The district administration is planning and taking forward everything from the welcoming ceremony to transportation to accommodations and protocol duties that need to be followed by Vizag district and state government officials to make this summit a success.

Vizag is Transforming for G20
Vizag's beautification works are currently in full swing. The state government has already sanctioned Rs. 50 crores for beautification works, and Rs. 100 crores will be spent by all the departments, including GVMC, for the city's beautification. The district collector already stated that the government is trying to design some tourist attractions on the beaches for the G20 summit so that city beaches will be given a new look. Various tourism projects and proposals that are pending are now being given clearance. Necessary arrangements are being made for the delegates to take part in yoga and meditation programs that will be held on the last day of the summit. Four new beach spots are being developed as the delegates attend tourist attractions in the city and district, including the submarine museum, the Thotlakonda Buddhist momentum, and many more.

A Path-Changing Opportunity
Visakhapatnam has a history of hosting global-scale conferences and summits. The presence of Eastern Naval Command in the city has provided Vizag with an opportunity to host an international fleet review, the Indian Navy's multilateral exercise Milan 2022, and many more. Vizag is also gearing up to hold Global Investor's Summit in March. This G-20 summit, however, is significant not only for India but also for Vizag's ability to establish itself on a global scale. 

Global Investors’ Summit in Vizag                                                                                          The government of Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the Global Investor Summit (GIS), which will be held on a large scale in Vizag to attract local and global investments with a focus on 12 major sectors. All necessary preparations are being made to attract large-scale domestic and foreign investments, as a number of industry giants are expected to attend the Global Investors' Summit on March 3 and 4. The AP government is utilizing all available resources to promote Andhra Pradesh as a favorable investment destination around the world.
