The Heritage series on vibrant sweet boxes: Novel initiative of Sarvani Sweets

A picture speaks a thousand words. In a true sense, it also evokes emotions and connects with the inherent soul. For thousands of years, people have endeavoured to preserve their history and heritage in the form of art and craft.

In a bid to promote tourism, Sarvani Sweets, the most trusted name, came up with a magnificent initiative-the first of its kind-depicting Vizag’s heritage series on curated half-kg sweet boxes in all 11 outlets spread across Vizag.

Speaking to Hello Vizag, NSR Prabhakar Varma, Director, Sarvani Sweets, said, "Our heritage is what we have inherited from the past to value and enjoy in the present, and to preserve and pass on to future generations. Heritage is a keystone of our culture that plays an important role in society; it informs, influences, and inspires both directly and indirectly.

"We found out that, it is a befitting way of contributing our bit by coming up with the Heritage series on the sweet boxes. It helps to strengthen our identity and increases our unique brand appeal. Our heritage series becomes part of who we are. Our expression of this identity shows others what we value; it highlights our values and priorities, says Prabhakar.

Passionately serving a variety of sweets and savouries, Sarvani Sweets has come through generations working together on this brand. The remarkable standards and the impeccable quality still stands a robust testimony to these greatest traditional sweets makers. Every customer is welcomed with a platter of luscious sweets and an array of great Indian savouries to choose from.

B Venkateswarlu, septuagenarian and retired Railway, a regular visitor to the Eenadu outlet says "Gulab Jamuns of Sarvani Sweets are finger licking. Every bite of this just melts in your mouth leaving behind the sweet sensation in your taste buds. The taste is one you can travel to any part of the world for! For Lolakshi, a Class X student of St. Joseph's girls' high school, Motichur laddu is the first choice after every meal, and the extravagant Chandrakala is made with a lot of pure ghee to flavour up your festive mode. The whole sweet just oozes with ghee and sugar, which complements both so well, providing another heavenly experience with every bite.

Stating further, Prabhakar says, "more to the point, our heritage series is also a heartfelt tribute to our beloved customers, clients, and to the city of Vizag that made us grow and reciprocated with lots of love and a sense of belongingness.  Today, we are a brand with a distinct identity, synonymous with tradition, excellence, and uniqueness, both in terms of quality and taste-in other words, an essential and unforgettable experience for those with a sweet tooth.

Out of many, the heritage sweet makers of Vizag selected a few heritage sites, including the old lighthouse, Simhachalam Temple, Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour, INS Kursura Museum, Visakhapatnam Port, Hawa Mahal, Kurupam Market, Mrs. AVN College, and Rosehill Church, which showcase Vizag’s past glory and bring tourists in droves.

"Our team of designers and illustrators' strenuous work spanning over six months is indeed noteworthy, commendable, and aligned with my innovative idea of the heritage series," which is now a talking point for sweet connoisseurs in the city of destiny," says Prabhakar. Adds: "In the near future, we are coming up with more themes that encompass the length and breadth of Vizag and generate a greater sense of pride."

With festivities pouring in every month, Sarvani Sweets have been the predominant show-stoppers. Used as a medium to share love and happiness, Sarvani sweets have always been an integral part of every traditional ceremony and festival. The rich heritage of these great sweet makers has always made them the people’s first choice!
