Thomas Cook India has expanded its airport foreign exchange network by opening forex counters at Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram.
The move strengthens the company’s presence in Visakhapatnam and the wider Andhra Pradesh market.
The new counters will provide travellers with access to foreign exchange services and multiple currencies.
The expansion targets the growing international travel demand emerging from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
According to Thomas Cook India’s India Forex Report 2026, Tier 2 cities contribute 41% of overall forex demand, while Tier 3 cities contribute another 12%.
Together, the two segments account for 53% of overall forex demand.
Visakhapatnam is being positioned as an important aviation gateway for the region following the opening of the new airport.
The airport is expected to handle more than 28 lakh domestic and international passengers annually, according to company-reported figures.
The airport currently has international connectivity including destinations such as the UAE and Singapore.
Thomas Cook India said leisure and holiday travel is the largest segment in its airport forex transactions, followed by employment-related travel.
Student travel and reconversion transactions by NRIs and foreign nationals also contribute to forex demand.
The company’s expansion is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its physical and digital forex services across emerging travel markets.
The new forex facility adds another passenger-oriented service at Vizag’s new international aviation gateway.
