A jovial trip to Yarada Beach in Visakhapatnam took a heartbreaking turn as a 16-year-old boy went missing in the beach waters on the evening of September 18, within the jurisdiction of the New Port Police Station.

Sub Inspector P. Srinu of the New Port Police Station revealed that a group of five friends, all hailing from Peda Gantyada, had embarked on an outing to Yarada Beach. 

Their adventure led them into the inviting waters for a swim. Tragically, amidst the group, Kalyan Kumar, a 16-year-old resident of Pedagantyada, vanished, reportedly swept away by the relentless force of strong waves.

In response to the alarming situation, the New Port police, in collaboration with local swimmers, initiated a search and rescue operation to locate the missing teenager.

A formal case was registered to facilitate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
