The species of plants include medicinal plants and aromatic herbs. The artificial waterfall in the park looks real. Children will love the park, as many play structures keep them entertained. 

#3 Arignar Anna Zoological Park

Arignar Anna Zoological Park is the first-ever zoo in India. The zoo was established in the year 1855. Some of the wildlife found here includes tiger, hyena, lion, panther, elephants, and many more. Elephant rides and lion safaris are available. If you are up to it, you could walk the entire stretch of the park. If not, you can tour on the battery-operated vehicle rides.

#4 Pulicat Lake 

Pulicat Lake is a 'must-visit place if you are in Chennai. Chennai is not green, and you do not chance upon many places in Chennai that help you get closer to nature. Hence, taking time away to be at Pulicat Lake becomes all the more important. Pulicat Lake is located on Tamilnadu's border. Boat rides are popular here. 

#5 Kapaleeswarar Temple

Kapaleeswarar Temple is one of the oldest temples in the city. It is not clear who built the temple. The temple is a classic example of the Dravidian style of sculpture and architecture.

#6 Breezy Beach

 Peace perfectly describes this not-so-famous but clean beach that attracts nature lovers. Chennai has many beaches, and while Marina beach is the longest in Chennai, Breezy beach is an attraction for the unpolluted atmosphere. It is situated in Valmiki Nagar in Chennai. This is a perfect place for a breezy walk and picturesque sunsets. The sea is clean, and hence water sports are popular. People love to swim here. You could also go on a boat ride.


#7 National Art Gallery

National Art Gallery, established in 1907, is another must-visit place. The influence of Indo-Saracenic architecture is evident in the red sandstone construction, which has four sections Tanjore Painting Gallery, Ravi Varma Painting Gallery, Indian Traditional Art Gallery and Decorative Art Gallery. Artists would love this place as it displays some ancient paintings and handicrafts that date back to the 11th century. 

#8 Mylapore

If you want to soak in the rich and colourful culture of Chennai, head to Mylapore, which is regarded as the cultural hub of Chennai, boasting a history going back 1500 years! Whether it is beautiful temples you are looking to visit or delicious South Indian delicacies to binge on, Mylapore has it all! All this, combined with endless options for shopping, make the neighbourhood one of the best entertainment places in Chennai.

#9 MGR Film City

South Indian movie buffs must visit MGR Film City. Spread across 70 acres, it will transport you to a dream world with its replicas of religious places, urban and village scenes, and landscaped gardens. You might catch sight of some famous Tamil actors too! 

#10 Fort St. George 

This is one of the major tourist attractions in Chennai. This fort was once a British stronghold and their first garrison settlement in the country. You can explore the Clive House, the first British official residence, and attend the St. Mary's Church mass.
