VIMS has made all the necessary arrangements to face Covid



Experts are predicting that the COVID-19 BF7 variant that is afflicting China will have an impact on India as well. At this moment, the central and state governments are preparing hospitals to face COVID. As a part of that, VIMS, which was a dedicated COVID hospital in the first and second waves, was prepared with 100 beds.


                                                                                                                                                    


On Tuesday, a mock drill was conducted by the Director of Vims, Dr. K. Rambabu, and after the drill, he stated that strong measures are being taken to successfully deal with Covid. As part of that, medicines to be given to COVID patients and oxygen supplies have been stored in advance without any disruption. He said that currently 100 beds have been allocated, and depending on the need, their number will be increased to 600 beds. An oxygen facility has been arranged for each bed. Vims Hospital has the capacity to make 200 ICU beds available.
 
Two oxygen tanks and two oxygen plants available in Vims were inspected, and the working conditions were observed. All the infrastructure has been prepared without any problems for the patients. He went on to say that in order to deal with COVID-19, who should perform what duties have been assigned, and all departments are prepared to provide the best treatment to the patients in coordination.
                                                                                                                                                     A special block for fevers without complications is prepared for normal patients. He said that as Vims Hospital is currently engaged in providing the best treatment to general patients, the fever OP has been moved to a special block so that they do not have any trouble. He said that if the patients are tested there and are corona positive, they will be transferred to the Covid ward; if they have a normal fever, they will be shifted to the normal ward.
