Visakhapatnam Commissioner of Police suspends CCRB inspector in connection with the recent gambling racket
Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam, Manish Kumar Sinha suspends City Crime Records Bureau (CCRB) inspector B V G Prasada Rao over bribe allegations.
It is reported that he has taken bribe from gamblers. Commissioner issued suspension orders on Sunday night that is on February 6th.
The inspector has been allegedly taking a bribe of Rs. 1.50 lakhs per month since the past 4 months. He assured them that he will manage the local police and will organise gambling at a private resort in Annavaram village near Bheemunipatnam. The inspector was even ordered not to leave the city without prior permission.
Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) officials on January 30th busted a gambling racket at a resort in Annavaram village. 22 people were arrested for allegedly playing cards by betting money. The officials seized around Rs. 5.40 lakhs of cash. Police collected around 300 coins which were used as money in the game by the gamblers.
Bheemili police conducted investigation where they discovered the CCRB inspector’s involvement in gambling case.
