Visakhapatnam Port Trust Unveils New Manthan Hall and Green Initiatives

In a move aimed at enhancing its infrastructure and environmental sustainability efforts, the Visakhapatnam Port Trust inaugurated a newly redesigned Manthan hall at the administrative office building of its premises.

The unveiling ceremony was presided over by the Chairperson of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority, who also inaugurated the revamped Sea Horse structure.

This transformation involved revitalizing the area with features such as a water fountain and enhanced lighting, at a cost of Rs 2.23 crore.

Furthermore, the port has embarked on a mission to develop the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) as a green port, with initiatives slated to commence from 2023 onwards.

As part of this endeavor, the VPA is undertaking various projects to incorporate greenery and beautification measures within and around its premises, aiming to create a verdant and pristine environment for the city's residents.

Addressing the media, the Chairperson emphasized the VPA's commitment to collaborating with the district administration to develop all interface areas of the Visakhapatnam Port.

Additionally, plans are underway to establish mangroves from Bheemili to the Port area, with the dual purpose of enhancing environmental conservation and mitigating beach erosion.

In alignment with its pledge to support urban development and beautification initiatives, the port is extending its assistance to the district administration.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of esteemed guests including District Collector A. Mallikarjuna and GVMC Additional Commissioner K.S. Viswanathan, signifying a collaborative approach towards fostering progress and sustainability in Visakhapatnam.
