Visakhapatnam, the port city of Andhra Pradesh, is set to add another feather to its cap with the inauguration of the Sea Harrier Museum on RK Beach Road. The museum, developed by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) with an expenditure of about Rs 10 crore, is a tribute to the Indian Navy and its illustrious history, and is likely to be inaugurated on May 11.

The Sea Harrier Museum holds special significance as it will showcase technological advancements in defence and aviation. The museum will be another addition to the celebrated museums of the city, such as the Kurusura submarine museum and the TU-142 aircraft museum. The Sea Harrier fighter, which the Indian Navy de-inducted in 2016, has been hung from the ceiling inside the Rajiv Smurthi Bhavan on the RK Beach Road.

The inauguration of the museum is likely to be graced by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who will be visiting various parts of Vizag city on May 11. Visakhapatnam district collector A. Mallikarjuna, GVMC commissioner CM Saikanth Varma, Vizag police commissioner Trivikrama Varma, and other officials have already inspected the arrangements being made for the CM's visit.

Speaking on the occasion, Mallikarjuna expressed his pride in the museum, stating that it will be another jewel in the crown of Vizag city. Meanwhile, GVMC commissioner Saikanth Varma expressed his hope that the museum will inspire the youth of the country to pursue careers in defence and aviation.

The Sea Harrier Museum is a testament to India's long-standing power in the Navy, and it showcases the technical advancements that have been made in the aviation industry. The museum will provide a fascinating insight into the history of the Indian Navy and its role in protecting the country's interests.

The inauguration of the Sea Harrier Museum is a significant moment for Visakhapatnam, and it highlights the city's growing reputation as a hub for culture, history, and technology. The museum is set to attract visitors from all over the country and will be a major tourist attraction in the years to come.
