Vizag traffic violators will now be booked based on CCTV footage

Vizag city police began booking cases against vehicles that broke traffic rules based on CCTV footage. The accident rate in the city has been increasing. Two-wheelers account for the vast majority of vehicles involved in accidents. Overtaking and overspeeding were two of the leading causes of accidents. The absence of safety equipment such as helmets has exacerbated the severity of the accidents. Another point to consider is that the majority of accidents involve young people. Taking all of these factors into account, the police started booking cases based on CCTV footage.

CCTV footage from the command and control center will now be used to file charges against traffic violators and take action against them. Initially, beginning in areas where accidents are frequent, the police have booked a total of 26 cases in just two days. Out of which,  25 were youth and students.

Car Shed, Hanumanthuwaka Junction, Venkojipalem, Maddilapalem, Satyam Junction, Siripuram Junction, Dwaraka Nagar, Santhipuram, Gurudwara Junction, Kommadi, and Port Hospital Junction were the locations where all these cases were booked.
