Vizagites started the New Year with devotion and fun 



Temples and churches were filled with devotees who went to worship and begin the New Year with the blessings of God. Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Assistant EO stated that around 30,000 devotees visited the temple to celebrate the New Year. The director of Ross Hill Church stated that nearly 5000 devotees offered their prayers on Sunday as a part of the New Year's celebration. Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Devi Temple and Sampath Vinayagar Temple too witnessed huge crowds throughout the day.


A Shobha yatra was held by the Marwari Community as part of a three-day programme as part of the 18th-anniversary celebration of the Khatu Shyam temple in the One Town area. Over 1000 Marwaris from Vizag, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Vijayawada, etc. took part in this procession, which started from Pedda Waltair and reached the One Town area. They welcomed the New Year by dancing to the bhajans during the procession.

From the night of December 31st, public places like RK Beach drew huge crowds, which continued on January 1st as well. Movie theaters, malls, shopping areas, parks, and restaurants were jam-packed throughout the day. Jagadamba Junction, RK Beach, Poorna Market, Maddilapalem, Dabagardens, etc. were filled with crowds. Traffic diversions were in place from 4.30 p.m. on Sunday at all the key places.
