Young Indians Donates Medicines to Vizag Prison to Combat Skin Infections
Young Indians (YI), a youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry, has donated medicines worth Rs 2.5 lakhs to the Central Prison in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, to help reduce skin-related infections like scabies and other fungal infections among the inmates.
The donation, which includes 1500 tubes of Permethrin 5% creams and 500 tubes of Ketoconazole 2% cream for fungal infections, was handed over to Shri Rahul SP, the Central Prison officer in charge, by YI Chairperson Shri Roy Kodali and Health Chair Dr. Sravani Sandhya, MD (DVL).
YI member Virat Maheshweri of Harmony Foods was the main sponsor of this donation, and the Vizag Development Council's Vice-Chair, O. Naresh Kumar, coordinated the effort with Young Indians. As Vice-Chair of the Vizag Development Council, O. Naresh Kumar has been instrumental in promoting sustainable development and inclusive growth in the region. He has worked tirelessly to bring together various stakeholders from the public and private sectors to create a conducive environment for business and entrepreneurship.
The donation of medicines by YI is a timely and much-needed initiative, given the high incidence of skin-related infections among inmates in prisons across the country. These infections are not only a major health concern but can also lead to social stigma and discrimination, making it difficult for former inmates to reintegrate into society. Through this donation, YI has demonstrated its commitment to promoting public health and well-being, and O. Naresh Kumar's role in coordinating the effort is a testament to his dedication to social welfare.
