Afcons Infrastructure Secures ₹1,084.54 Crore DRDO Contract in Visakhapatnam



Visakhapatnam: Afcons Infrastructure Limited has been awarded a substantial contract worth ₹1,084.54 crore by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for a pivotal project in Visakhapatnam.


 The project encompasses the augmentation of the Missile Test Complex (MTC), establishment of the Strategic Application Facility (SAF), and installation of workshop equipment for the Advanced Missile and Combat Systems Workshop Facility (AMCSWF). These developments are integral to enhancing India's defense capabilities. 

Operating under a Design & Build (D&B) model, Afcons will undertake comprehensive responsibilities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical works, as well as the implementation of HVAC and ELV systems, and interior furnishings. The project is slated for completion within 36 months. 


Following the announcement, Afcons Infrastructure's share price experienced a notable increase, reflecting positive investor sentiment. 


This contract underscores Afcons Infrastructure's expertise in executing large-scale defense projects and contributes significantly to the strategic infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, reinforcing the city's role in India's defense sector.
