Andhra University Announces APEdCET Exam Details for June 18

Andhra University has unveiled the details for the Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (APEdCET), scheduled for June 18.

The notification comes with options for late fee submission until May 21. However, there's a notable shift among BEd aspirants towards traditional courses, influencing recruitment trends and job opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.

In a recent announcement, Andhra University's APEdCET convener, Prof. TV Krishna, disclosed that the examination will be held across 36 centers statewide.

The responsibility for conducting this significant test has been entrusted to AU by the AP State Council of Higher Education.

Prospective candidates have until May 15 to submit their applications.

For those opting for late submissions, the deadlines are May 19 with a late fee of 1,000, and May 21 with a late fee of 2,000.

The examination fee structure stands at 600 for OC students, 500 for BC, and 450 for SC and ST students, Prof. Krishna highlighted.

Applicants are urged to visit the official website, https://cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/EDCET, for comprehensive details and to download their hall tickets starting from May 30.

The landscape of education in Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a noticeable transformation.

With a decline in recruitment notifications from the state government, a significant number of BEd aspirants are veering towards traditional science, management, and arts courses such as MSc, MBA, and others.

This shift has been evident in admission processes over the last few years, as indicated by the dwindling number of applications received by EdCET, which once garnered lakhs of applicants but saw only 13,600 candidates applying in 2023.
