Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Health Department will conduct a Filaria survey in Pedapenki from November 4-6, as announced by Parvathipuram Manyam District Collector A. Shyam Prasad during a review meeting on health initiatives on Wednesday.
The district administration, acting on Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan's directives, has allocated ₹3.73 crore for a 4.80-kilometer drainage system in Pedapenki gram panchayat to support disease prevention efforts.
In addition to the survey, an anemia action committee will be formed with medical staff, Anganwadi workers, and self-help groups to support affected individuals. Enhanced Tuberculosis screening is planned, especially in Bhamini and Battili, along with cancer screenings for cervical and oral cancers.
The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) will also hold camps for prosthetic screenings across the district, with dates scheduled at Saluru (November 19), Palakonda (November 21), and Parvatipuram (November 23).
