Vizianagaram Police Rescue Kidnapped Property Owner; Four Arrested
Visakhapatnam: The Vizianagaram district police have successfully rescued a prominent property owner and arrested four suspects involved in a recent kidnapping case in Sringavarapukota mandal, as shared by District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal on Wednesday.
The victim, Dantuluri Venkata Surya Narayana Raju from Kottam village, was kidnapped on October 28 by individuals posing as police officers. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₹4 lakh, threatening harm if their demands were unmet. The case took a positive turn during a routine vehicle check at Usiri Junction, where police arrested four suspects and safely rescued Raju.
The investigation identified the kidnapping mastermind as Kasireddy Raju from Kommadi, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam, who had known the victim for nearly two decades. Struggling financially, Kasireddy Raju, along with his two sons Praveen and Sai, and others, orchestrated the crime under the guise of a police operation.
“Four suspects are in custody, and efforts are underway to apprehend three more involved in the crime,” the SP stated. The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by the victim’s son-in-law, Kakarlapudi Siva Prasad, at S. Kota police station on October 29.
