AP's First Medical College Inaugurated at Paderu

Visakhapatnam: The first-ever medical college in Paderu district was inaugurated on Monday by District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar, marking a significant milestone for medical education in the region.

The college, offering 50 MBBS seats for the current academic year, has already enrolled 42 students.

Collector Dinesh Kumar assured students and parents that Paderu provides a safe and conducive environment for learning. He highlighted the swift efforts to establish essential labs and facilities in line with the Chief Minister’s directives. He also addressed concerns about safety and accessibility, noting that the region has transformed over the past 15 years and is well-connected to Visakhapatnam.

The Collector emphasized that the college would be fully equipped in the coming months, with a playground and further infrastructure. He pointed out that local health challenges, such as sickle cell anemia and malaria, would offer practical learning opportunities for future doctors.

Joint Collector M.J. Abhishek Goud shared his own experiences in medicine, urging students to pursue excellence in their field. College officials, including Principal Prof. Hemalatha Devi and Medical Supervisor Prof. Vishwamitra, warmly welcomed students and their families at the event.

Students expressed excitement about joining the inaugural batch, with parents praising the college’s development and the promising future it offers their children.
