In preparation for the MILAN naval exercise scheduled from February 19 to 27, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is set to undertake beautification initiatives along the Beach Road stretch.

GVMC Commissioner C.M. Saikanth Varma, accompanied by officials from the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), conducted an inspection along the Beach Road stretch on Wednesday.

Varma instructed officials to address road repairs, fix defunct streetlights and CCTV cameras, and undertake necessary painting of walls along Beach Road.

Additionally, the Engineering Department was tasked with ensuring the visibility of road signage and zebra crossings while improving road lighting.

Varma also examined the ongoing road extension project and the development of footpaths and greenery between Green Park Hotel Junction to Seven Hills Hospital Junction, with Chief Engineer Ravikrishna Raju in attendance.
