Boosting State Teams: Camps Enhance Performance in Andhra Cricket

In Visakhapatnam, the recent successes of Andhra's women's cricket teams in BCCI tournaments, including the U-19 team's impressive runner-up finish, signal a promising trajectory for the state's cricketing future.

The ongoing camp for women players in Anantapur, spearheaded by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), holds the promise of further enhancing the performance of state teams.

MS Kumar, the General Manager of Game Development at ACA, emphasized the potential benefits of this camp during his visit to the Anantapur facility.

Accompanied by notable figures like BCCI panel umpire Ch Ravikanth Reddy and ACA GM (Admin) Rohit Varma, Kumar observed the rigorous fitness and fielding sessions of the first batch of participants.

Interacting closely with both players and coaches, including prominent names like TV Chandra Mohan Reddy, S. Ramadevi, and D Ravi, Kumar and his team assessed the camp's effectiveness in refining skills and strategies.

Looking ahead, Anantapur is set to host trials on April 30 to select the U-16 cricket team, reinforcing the region's commitment to nurturing young talent.

With requirements including date of birth certificates, Aadhar cards, study certificates, cricket kits, and whites, the trials aim to identify promising players who can contribute to the state's cricketing legacy.

Beyond Anantapur, cricketing fervor continues to thrive in other districts as well. The Cricket Association of YSR District (CAYD) is gearing up to conduct camps starting May 1.

Those interested can register by contacting designated officials in Kadapa, Nandalur, Proddutur, and Brahmamgari Matham.

This widespread engagement underscores the collective effort to bolster cricketing talent across Andhra Pradesh, ultimately fortifying the state's presence in the national cricketing arena.
