In a remarkable display of innovation and dedication, the Dr BR Ambedkar Chair at Andhra University (AU)
 has achieved a significant milestone by securing a total of 20 patents.

This accomplishment was revealed in the annual report submitted by the esteemed institute.

Comprising seven international patents and 13 Indian patents, these groundbreaking inventions cover a diverse range of fields, including the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies for chronic kidney disease (CKD) detection, as well as biomedical image reconstruction.

Recently, Dr BR Ambedkar Chair professor and registrar, Prof M Stephen, had the honor of attending a pivotal review meeting organized by the Dr Ambedkar Foundation under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. 

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the secretary of the department of justice and empowerment, Saurabh Garg, along with additional secretary Amit Kumar Ghosh and joint secretaries Biswaranjan Sasmal and Radhika Chakravarthy.

Notably, all 24 Dr BR Ambedkar Chair professors from various institutions across the country participated in the gathering.

During the meeting, Prof. Stephen presented the comprehensive annual report, highlighting the impactful research activities and outcomes spearheaded by the Dr BR Ambedkar Chair at AU.

Emphasizing the Chair's commitment to fostering rural and social development through digital empowerment, he underscored the significance of the patents as a testament to their dedication to advancing knowledge and societal welfare.

Additionally, the registrar shared that the Chair had contributed significantly to academia, with the publication of six papers in internationally renowned journals.

These scholarly works addressed critical social issues, leveraging the power of digital technology to drive positive change and transformation.

The achievements of the AU Ambedkar Chair underscore its pivotal role in driving innovation, research, and societal progress, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and service to the community.
