Discontinuation of Weekly Spandana Programme in Visakhapatnam District

The weekly Spandana programme, known as Jaganannaku Chebudam, was cancelled in Visakhapatnam district until further notice, officials announced on Sunday.

This decision was made as the model code of conduct came into effect across various districts in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

In an official statement released by the Visakhapatnam District Collector, it was communicated to the public that the programme would not be conducted starting from Monday, March 18.

"The weekly programme Jagannanku Chebudam has been cancelled until further notice," stated Visakhapatnam Collector A. Mallikarjuna.

The State government had reintroduced the Spandana programme in March 2021 as a platform for grievance redressal.

However, with the imposition of the model code of conduct, the programme's continuity was halted.

It was noted that people would often travel long distances to the district headquarters to attend the Spandana programme, highlighting its significance in addressing public grievances.
