The official Delhi residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been restored and upgraded at a cost of ₹6.5 crore by NBCC (India) Ltd, a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Located at 1 Janpath Road, the bungalow was restored in three and a half months and handed over to the Chief Minister on October 22, 2026, according to NBCC.
Heritage Structure Undergoes Restoration
Built in the 1930s, the bungalow had reportedly become structurally dilapidated after decades of use. The restoration project focused on strengthening and retrofitting the ageing structure while preserving its heritage and architectural features.
NBCC said the work involved careful planning to retain the building’s original character while improving its condition and functionality.
Modern Interiors and Sustainable Features
The upgraded residence includes modern interiors, sustainable features based on net-zero concepts and improved green landscaping.
NBCC Chairman and Managing Director K. P. Mahadevaswamy said the restoration reflected the agency’s focus on engineering precision, heritage preservation and timely project delivery.
Residence Used for Official Meetings
Naidu performed housewarming rituals at the bungalow in July 2024, shortly after assuming office as Chief Minister. The residence has since served as a venue for meetings with Union Ministers and other senior leaders during his visits to the national capital.
The restoration combines the preservation of a historic government residence with upgrades intended to meet contemporary requirements.
